when과 while의 차이 뭘까요?
when vs while
when는 '특정한 시간(at a specific time)'을 나타내기 때문에 when 절에는 진행시제(is doing)이 올 수 가 없습니다.
while은 기간(during a period of time)을 나타냅니다. 그래서 while 절에는 진행시제도 올 수 있습니다.
Everything was ready when their guests arrived.
그 손님들이 도착할 때는 모든 것이 준비되었다.
You can read a magazine while you are waiting.
기다리는 동안 잡지를 읽을 수 있습니다.
He set the table while she prepared dinner.
